How important is it to have a high Domain Authority?

For this reason, Moz stresses that this metric should be used as a relative measure. Even though a high page rank in search engines is preferable, websites with low DA scores can and do achieve that.
Assume that your site’s DA is 25. Even if it’s lower than the scores of millions of other websites, if it’s higher than the scores of your main competitors, you’ll likely rank higher for the most relevant keywords in your industry.
That is, a higher Domain Authority than the sites you want to outrank.
