Here is a list of places to visit near Delhi for families to enjoy: 

 

  • Manesar 

Manesar was an unheard of village, but now has become a business hub. The place is famous because of its rustic charm and its luxurious and fun resorts. Despite being a business hub, the place still holds its beauty of village and tranquil and picturesque areas. The resort offers fun indoor activities for the guests. The village is situated in Gurugram, Haryana. It is 56 kilometers away from Delhi.

 

Transportation – It will take 1.5 hours by road to reach Manesar from Delhi through NH 48.

Preferred time to visit – November to february because excursions can be uncomfortable in summers under the scorching sun. 

Expenditure – 3,000 INR to 5,000 INR per person.

 

  • Neemrana

Neemrana is a peaceful and historical town of Alwar, Rajasthan which is 129 kilometers away from Delhi. The place is a perfect getaway for heritage lovers as it is very popular and suitable for its heritage. Heritage lovers will love the 15th century splendid Neemrana Fort Palace which is now turned into a luxurious hotel. People here also love its quiet greenery which remains throughout the year.

 

Transportation – It will take 2 hours and 30 minutes by road to reach Neemrana from Delhi through NH 8 which is a Delhi – Jaipur Highway.

Preferred time to visit – The place is situated in the hot region of Rajasthan, so it is preferable to visit the place in winters.

  • Alwar 

Alwar is one of the oldest cities of Rajasthan which is a home of awe struck palaces, forts and remains of history which will take you back to the time of mighty and powerful kings. Alwar is also known as a quiet destination close to Delhi. It is 164 kilometers away from Delhi. The great and haunted Bhangarh Fort lies in Alwar. The Fort is a must visit place as it is known as one of the most haunted places in India.

 

Transportation – It will take 3 to 4 hours to reach Alwar from Delhi by road through NH 48.

Preferred time to visit – Being a hot place it is preferred to visit Alwar in winters during November to February.

  • Mandawa

Mandawa is a charming tourist attraction in Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. It is one of the most unique places to visit from Delhi which is 232 kilometers away. The place is known for its peaceful settlement of the 18th century. You can find many historic havelis (mansions or palaces) and a namesake fort. The place also offers an ‘Open Art Gallery’. People of Mandawa are very naive and welcoming which will urge every culture enthusiast to explore the region more. 

 

Transportation – One can easily reach Mandawa from Delhi through NH 9 by road. Alternate way to reach Mandawa is by train, Jhunjhunu Railway Station which is 27.3 kilometers away from Mandawa is the nearest station. 

Preferred time to visit – October to March is ideal time to visit Mandawa.

Expenditure – 2,000 INR to 4,000 INR per person.

 

  • Parwanoo 

Parwanoo is a very rare town of Himachal which is an ideal weekend places to visit from Delhi. The town is 265 kilometers away from Delhi. Despite being a rare place, the town offers pine forested hills and fruit orchards to the timber trail cable car ride. Everything in the quiet town is mesmerizing and peaceful.

Transportation – It will take around 4 hours 30 minutes by road to reach Parwanoo from Delhi. The town is 35 kilometers away from Chandigarh. Kalka is the nearest railway station from the hill town. 

Preferred time to visit – March to October is the ideal time to visit the place. 

Expenditure – 5,000 INR to 6,000 INR per person. 

 

  • Mathura 

The destination is a perfect choice for the people who seek spiritual and picturesque getaway. Mathura is known as the Land of Lord Krishna and is famous because of vibrant locals, big and beautiful temples and positive aura. Not only elders but kids of the family will love the place too. The place is not very far from Delhi. It is 180 kilometers away.

 

Transportation – It takes 3 to 4 hours to reach Mathura from Delhi via Yamuna expressway or AH1. 

Preferred time to visit – October to March is ideal time to visit as the weather is pleasant and one can also have a glimpse of Holi festival for a different  experience. 

Expenditure – 4,000 INR to 5,000 INR per person.
