Normally when we buy earbuds like Apple AirPods, we’re mostly focusing on the things like sound quality and battery life. These things are very important, and we’ll go over them in detail. However, they’re not the most important ones when it comes to exercising.
I’m currently using the Apple AirPods Pro MagSafe that I bought with a used iPhone 12 Pro from Wise Market Pakistan (more on that later). They’re really amazing earbuds that I use on an almost regular basis, but the ones we need to talk about are the Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation.
So, without wasting any more time, here are the things that you need to look for in the 2nd generation of the Apple AirPods Pro.

This is the backbone of any audio-related product. From smartphones to TVs, one of the first things that we use is sound quality. The same is also true for any earbuds, especially the ones that are made by Apple.Â
Luckily, Apple has never compromised on the sound quality of its products, and when it comes to making Apple AirPods, they’ve really left some of the big names in the dust. The two most prominent features of their earbuds are spatial audio and active noise cancellation. When these two features combine together, you really get immersion into what you’re listening to. Just make sure you don’t get too immersed when walking about because that can’t be good for your health😂.
So, when it comes to the Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation sound quality, you check that box off your list.
2. Practicality
Now, since we’re talking about exercising, there will be a lot of jumping and moving around involved. So, if you’re using basic Apple AirPods, they’ll easily slip out of your ears. This is also true for some other earbuds, but there is a reason behind it.Â
It usually happens when either your ear is wet/not clean🤢 or if the earbuds you’re using have a plastic tip and not a soft tip. They can easily slip out and be lost because sometimes exercising can become a bit intensive. However, there are a few exceptions, like the Apple AirPods 3rd Generation.Â
Therefore, if you have earbuds that have soft silicon tips, then they will stay in your ear until or unless your ears are wet. So, you can rest assured that the Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation will stay in place and won’t come out.
3. Water Resistance
Speaking of wet ears, the most important thing that you should keep in mind is that the earbuds you’re using have good water resistance. I’m not talking about water resistance, like wearing earbuds and jumping into a pool. It’s a given that when you’re in a gym and doing exercise, you will sweat.
If that or any type of water gets into the earbud’s inner circuitry, it can easily fry the product itself. That’s why proper water resistance is necessary for earbuds. Luckily, the Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation also comes with the IPX4 water resistance rating. So, you can rest assured that if it’s only sweat or a few splashes of water, these Apple AirPods won’t be in any immediate danger.
4. Battery
Lastly, you need to keep an eye on your battery so you don’t lose motivation when your battery dies when your exercising. So, always make sure that you only choose the best possible battery time earbuds. Ideally, the ones that last more than a few hours.
The 2nd generation of Apple AirPods Pro comes with an amazing 5-6 hours of battery time if you use it carefully. It’s even better than some of the Samsung buds that I’ve used in the past. The time I’m talking about is the time of the AirPods themselves, meaning you’ll get a much better stand-by time when in a charging case.
Are Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation Good for Exercising
As you might have guessed by now, where I stand with using these Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Generation😂. I think that they’re an amazing choice if you want to exercise a lot while listening to high-quality sound for longer periods of time.
Over the past few years, I’ve used a lot of earbuds, and none were very satisfactory because there were a number of issues. They were either not durable enough, won’t last as long, or had some of the worst sound quality possible.
So, if you ask me, I recommend that you go for these 2nd Gen AirPods Pros even though they’re a bit pricey in Pakistan.Â
